You never know when shit will hit the fan, so we need to stock up on important things to survive such a situation. There are many different scenarios to prepare for, most of which will require the same items, but ya never know.
The most common reason to prep is for a natural disaster. Every part of the world gets natural disasters, some even have multiple types for different seasons. I live in the mid-west, so tornadoes and blizzards are the most likely event for me to prepare for. It all depends on where you live that you may have to tweak how you prepare.
Another reason is economic collapse. With the high levels of corruption in our government, corporations and especially Wall Street, the chance of such an event is not far fetched. Some believe we're already there. Many economists are predicting another major crash. The Federal Reserve has been printing money like they're coupons and keeping interest rates at 0% with no regulation on the banks that caused the last major crisis just a few years ago.
Although it is unlikely for the United States to be under attack, it is not impossible with all the countries that dislike our foreign affairs and the fact that we can't seem to mind our own business. Between Russia, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, North Korea, Iran and all the other countries that we can't seem to get along with, being attacked at home is becoming more likely than ever before.
Many of us don't trust our own government and who could blame them. I definitely don't believe anything they say until I see it for myself and even then I'm still skeptical. The government and especially the last two presidents, have taken more rights away from the citizens in the last couple decades than we could have ever imagined. We do live in a police state and some say we are only one small step away from martial law.
Don't get caught with your pants down!
Something could happen any day, at any time and you won't see it coming.
Very few people were prepared for the major disasters of the last few decades and many of them didn't survive.
You don't have to be one of them when the next disaster strikes!
Even if you're on a tight budget, like me, you can still take steps to prepare for the worst.
